Not that the Husky's gone, I need something I can ride a few counties over but still be managable in the woods...I'll probably look for a 400/450 EXC.

Honestly I feel like the KTM 500 is more manageable in the woods than a 450.

What year did the 500 come out?

I'll probably be looking for an '04 -'07 RFS bike. Everyone says that's the motor to have, and less $$$ overall than a newer bike.

if you're wondering if a 200 is big enough or powerful enough of a dirtbike for you, don't. I have one a few years older than this that will smoke check most anything out there if your nerve will just hold up   8)

I thought the same thing before I bought this one..."There's no way a little 200 is going to haul my fat a$$ around". Then I test rode it...after almost looping it up a steep hill, I found it's got more than enough balls.

You can't lug it like a 300 (although it's still respectable)...but if this bike doesn't have enough power for you, you probably need to look for a CR500.

The 200's are based on the smaller 125 chassis (instead of the larger 250 chassis), so it's basically a mountain bike with a motor.

I kinda hope it doesn't sell...I've had it for two years, and I've never had any trouble with it. It's never failed to start, never left me stranded, never boiled over, etc. It's like a puppy that never gets tired of playing...

Dang it...now I'm emotionally attached. I may just keep it and drop a couple of teeth on the rear to make it more streetable.  :)

I agree on the older RFS 450 engine being a better plated bike. Talk to Jeff Adams about that. I know he's toyed with the idea of selling his. It's tagged, got Rekluse and all.

The 500 came out in 2012 (I believe). Before that was 525 with RFS engine(2003-2007) and 530 which has similar engine architecture to the 500 (2008-2011). They were solid bikes too just not as nimble as the 500.

The 500 is such a good machine but it is pretty pricey. They are definitely proud of it.

It's just money.  :o
