Title: Short Wheeler Wildlife Refuge Ride
Post by: SoloRider73 on December 17, 2019, 05:44:34 PM
I purchased and installed a windshield for my DR650.  So I went for a short ride on Sunday to try it out.

It was pretty wet near the river.

My bike with the windshield

Unfortunately this is the one and only time the windshield will be on my bike.  I had so much turbulence that it blurred my vision above 60 mph.  I guess it's going on the DR Riders swap meet this week.

I'm not sure what options there are for a DR, but usually what the factory offers only makes things worse.

Solorider, Happy Trails used to make a frame that would tilt a windscreen forward making it more upright preventing the wind from being dumped right into one's face. I still couldn't find an acceptable screen (tall enough) so made one. The homemade unit can't be seen through but that's not been a problem.
