I rode 96 miles of dual sport riding today, with about 75-80% of it off road. I didn't take many pictures but I did shoot some video.

I also got to fly the drone some while I took a break for lunch. This was the auto-created video the app generated so it's not the best but oh well.

All in all, a good day to ride

Looks great!

Where did you go riding/take the drone footage?

Can someone tell me where Charlie's Creek Road is? Googles telling me it's in a different state (sorry I'm not from Alabama, still trying to find good places to ride)

Stu, I lived in Bama for about 7 years and got connected with Bamarides about 5 years ago. Last year I got a job in Northern Metro Atlanta and have been riding up in the mountains some. Last month, I bought a house up in North Georgia and finally have gotten to get out and do some exploring.

Charlie's Creek Rd is about 1 hr from my place:

Today's drone shot was from Wildcat Rd, which is about 20-30 mins from the house.

Right in the heart of motorcycle Mecca. I'm quite jealous. I try and make my annual pilgrimage. There's just not a single bad road to take.

PM me if you come up this way. I'm learning some of the hidden  stuff only the locals know about.

It was hard to not jump the water breaks on this road. May have to go back on the DRZ.

Visited the West Blocton coke ovens.

Then off to the Cahaba to chill for a few.

More dirt than dual sport but it is tagged and I rode a few miles on the street to get there.....

Nice bike. Looks like a 250/300 xc-w? That's in my top 3 for whenever I actually decide to get a plated dirt bike.

Took the Six10 out for it's shake-down ride.

Doesn't have the explosive power of the 510, but feels like it would tractor up the side of a house if you could hang on to it. The previous owner had the suspension lowered 1.5", serviced and revalved by Traxxion Dynamics. We are the same inseam, so it works perfect for me...it still has more travel than a KLR, DR, etc. but I can find the ground if I need to dab and not tip over.

I'll be swapping tires post-haste...the Metzeler Karoos utilize technology that somehow provides zero traction on pavement or dirt.

I managed to get out and ride some around Suches, Ga.

First there was exploring some single track I heard about from a buddy.

Then I went chasing waterfalls.

Then I hit Flatlands Rd at a spirited pace.

Up on Duncan Ridge at one of the pull offs, I met a guy on a Berg 570. He wasn't a hardcore rider and had not been down Flatlands before, so I backtracked a little and escorted him. I think him being able to see my lines really helped boost his confidence.

Wound up doing about 60 miles, much of which was on trails. All in all, a good day to ride
