Almost...

Put a grappling hook on the end and have it deploy at the push of a button and I'm all over it. :)
So it's a fancy piece of rope? Just get an auto retractable dog leash for a large dog.

Its a little heavy at 14lbs. But its cheaper than the rope/dog leash gismo and no pulling required :)
A z drag is all that is needed for a bike.
There was a good z drag thread on the old board. The big pig fell over lowering the jack. I had a pretty sweet crack for some climbing cams.

I wonder if Johnny still has any of the pictures or video.

yes, I only need to edit them. lol
I will probably get a Warn XT17 in the near future for my bike. I've done plenty of mechanical advantage systems over the years hauling bodies and other souls up and down cliffs and caves. I'd rather just carry an 8lb winch. then again my bike does weigh 450lbs, so when it's dropped in a gulley or stuck in mud, I think it might be worth it's weight in gold. :)
It's not the weight of the winch I worry about its the space of enough rope to make a meaningful mechanical advantage system, pulleys (using biners you loose a lot of the advantages of the mechanical advantage system) and prussic cords (or microscenders).
