A fire first reported over the weekend in Bankhead National Forest has grown to 258 acres, U.S. Forest Service officials said Monday.

The fire burning in the Sipsey Wilderness area of the forest has shut down four trails temporarily, officials said. Until further notice the following trails are closed: 209 Sipsey River, 224 Bunyan Hill Wagon Trail/Road, 204 Bee Branch and 206 White Oak. Visitors are also asked to limit their parking at the Braziel Creek and Borden Creek trailheads.
