Title: Dualsport Newbie
Post by: Muss on November 18, 2015, 10:34:28 AM
Hello all. My name is Billy (Muss nickname). 44 live in Toney al north of Huntsville. Have not ridden in years. Had a couple Harley's and a vintage ct360t. Looking forward to exploring dualsport on the 2005 klr650 I just bought.

Welcome!

Everyone, this is my brother-in-law. I have a feeling he's going to love riding a dual sport.  8)

Now that's a bad attitude.  :)

Motocycles are for spending money. You think we got these things for riding??  Stick around, we will help you see the light. lol

Well just discovered my preload and damping were both at factory setting 1 lol. Not gonna work for big boy. I'm 225 on. set them at 5 and 3 respectively till I get off road will play with damping setting.

No one ever does. We just make up lies to be able to justify having it.

If you don't buy momma the proper shoes for dual sporting, she won't be happy 8)
And her punishment could be harsh.

Those look like the stock Dunflop 750s.  They actually work pretty good on the pavement but are very marginal off road.  They also don't last long.  My original rear tire was toast after 1900 miles.  When those wear out, and it won't take long, get some Shinko 244s.  They work much better in the dirt, last longer and are dirt cheap. :)

Shinko 244's are a great all purpose tire. When it comes time I can help you spoon some on your rims and get them balanced.
