Title: US Hwy 231 South of Huntsville
Post by: jrobinson on February 17, 2020, 08:03:45 AM
Due to the heavy rains earlier in the month, Hwy 231 between Lacey's Spring and top of Brindlee Mt/Morgan City  is closed indefinitely. To detour around this area you must go through Guntersville or Priceville.

Looks like someone needs to setup some sweet jumps over the washed out sections!

Wow, it's been awhile since I've been on it, but when my wife's mother was in Lacey's Springs and her grandfather in Arab, I traveled that stretch quite a bit.  That's a long detour

You don't have to detour all the way to Priceville.  There are some back roads you could take that would be fun if you are on a bike.

That area is known for having lots of sinkholes, I believe.  There is a big one somewhere around Apple Grove.
