Title: Barber Motorsports Vintage Motorcycle Festival 2022
Post by: Chitza on September 30, 2022, 08:05:51 AM
Hi guys! It's finally here! We are one week out from this amazing event! Please plan to join us in the Moto-AL Swap Meet booth! As always, it will be your hospitality location! Plenty of refreshments and food as well as chairs for relaxing and visiting with a cast of wonderful
Motorcycling characters. And you can shop, too!

Due to an unforeseen circumstance, our booth has changed location for this year, but don't you worry, we are in an incredibly convenient and easy to find location this year. You can find us at booth PP5, which is the end cap of row E, just inside the first gate of the swap meet. It is a large space with a shaded tree line and should allow for plenty of Moto parking and easy access in and out of the swap meet area. Drop by, take a load off and socialize. I'm excited to see you all!

I'm going to be there early Friday morning. I want to demo ride that new Zero Adventure bike.
I'll be sure to stop by as I stroll thru the swap meet.

Do you need help unloading and setting up? I can be free almost any time.

@norton73, I think we have it covered, but if you're hanging around on Sunday afternoon, extra hands make it go faster  :)

We are here!! It was freaking cold last night, but the sun is shining nice this morning. Keep in mind, we are not in our regular spot this year. Everything else will be the same. Food, drink, charging stations for your phones and cameras, the absolute best conversations!

Find us in the Swap Meet on Lot PP5, end cap of row E. Best access is through the second swap meet gate. Plenty of chairs and bike parking. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221006/527585e58a92dfe0eb47fa4ca206553b.jpg)

Quick question are Klim and Revit there this year in the fan zone.  Had a high speed gravity enhanced moment last weekend and need new gear.

Thanks Karla, Kris and everyone else who set up and organized everything this year.  Hopefully next year I will be able to come down for more days and help out more.

It was great seeing and hanging out with everyone this year.

So did anyone end up taking the Goldwing parts?

I miss my MC-AL crew!

Still on the trailer..... Dang it!!! I haven't been able to pay someone to take them. They will haunt me again next year I guess....  :'(

Suggestion was made that I should return them to your front yard while you were gone.... HEHEHE  :D

We miss you too....

Well, those Goldwing parts are NOT on the trailer. A very interesting story about their new home. I haven't posted yet because I am so tech challenged. I have video but can't figure out how to post it as I promised the kid's father I would keep it as private as possible. So here is the story. A 16yo boy came in to the booth pulling a Radio Flyer wagon full of an odd assortment of bike parts and gear. His story was that he started with $20 and was buying, selling and trading up until he could buy a bike. I traded him a heavy blue Jean jacket and a set of pipes for some Triumph tank badges.
Then I had an idea. I chased him down and told him if he could sell the Goldwing parts and bring me $5, I would give him a two piece leather suit that has been on the trailer for years. He could also keep anything over $5 that he got for the parts. He took pics and off he went. At the end of day two, he had sold and traded down to a helmet, a jacket, a metal sign and a gas powered scooter. He asked if HE could buy the parts for $5 and sell them online when he got home. Well, of course!! As long as we never see those parts again. Win/win for Moto-AL and a very industrious kid who will be on his own bike very soon.
