While riding to Prattville Wednesday, I decided to take the "no interstate" route from Scottsboro to Prattville. The trip through Guntersville, Boaz, Rainbow City, Talladega, Sylacauga, Rockford, then Prattville.

South of Talladega on Hwy 231 I came to Rockford. The GPS said turn right onto Alabama Hwy 22 West. Just as I made the turn I notice the Old Coosa County Jail. 20 miles later I was at Hwy 31.

This section of Hwy 22 was 20 miles of sweeping curves along with hills and valleys. The majority of the landscape is pines sprinkled with a few houses. You will cross the Coosa River about halfway.

The speed limit is 55mph and the road is very smooth. I was traveling around 4:30 in the afternoon and only saw 10-15 other vehicles on that section.

Indian Hills Motorcycle Resort was on Hwy 22. It is a nice road.

When in trouble, shower down on the throttle. It either fixes the problem or ends the suspense.
