2smoke posted up that he was riding Cahaba WMA area Sunday. So, I have the wife's new Versys X just begging to get dirty. She's in Vegas for the week, so it needs some break in miles. I posted up and Wayne texted me he was on his way. Little nipply out, around 39-40 when I left. On the way I got another call from Norton and we talked and he headed our way.

Token bike picture by the river!

The Slab

The obligatory group photo.

No pictures and it didn't happen, right.

I think Wayne has some video, maybe he will drop it in here later.

Great day of riding with great folks!

How do you like the V3X overall?  ... and as an ADV bike?

Kind of hoping Kawi puts the new Ninja 400 motor and makes a V4X.

It's is super smooth. It likes to rev to the heavens( Ninja 300 motor). Very good wind protection at highway speeds. Love the fuel injection and 6 speed.

Don't get me wrong, it's wound up at 70 mph, but we have had 2 ninjas so I'm used to it. Top speed about 110, with my Buck and a quarter ass on it.

Found it quite nimble in the dirt, suspension is decent for a $4K  bike.  Disclaimer: it has shitty battle wing street tires, so mud was definitely interesting. Pulls like a tractor in 1st, 6th is very highway oriented.

Feel gauge, fuel range, temp and gear indicator in the cluster.

But, don't think I'm not going to help her break it in!

Suzy insisted on her green bike, she's on a run because this is the 3rd in a row!

The sacrifices we make for our wives. That's a tough job, breaking in a bike.

The KLX is the first green bike I have ever had, the only previous Kawasaki was black;

any way, I got lost going to meet 'em, ended up on the wrong side of the river. I got to meet a nice Shelby County officer who directed me most of the way to the correct place, then called Darrin and directions to them. Nice of them to hang around long enough for me to get there.

Great shake down run on the new to me KLX, I can see it becoming a long timer in the garage.

A fun day hanging out and riding! Both Kawasakis are impressive. The Versys X is one sweet bike. Could not get over what great condition the KLX is in.

Looks like a fun trip! I haven't been down in that area in over a year!

That Kawi looks like a blast!
