Alright, so my wife wants to take the family camping this year to the hot air balloon festival. Was wondering if anyone had any advice in where they have stayed, I may take a hammock, but the family will be in a tent.
Point Mallard is where you want to be. But I would advise you to make your reservations today. It might already be full for that weekend. Very nice park. You can walk to the ballon fest.
Well, their website says they don't take reservations that time of the year. So if they are full. What is my best second option?
KOA at Hillsboro. On the river. Its about 15 miles from Point Mallard.
Check Joe Wheeler State Park....It's 40 miles from Point Mallard though......we're thin on campgrounds here,....

They have a "primitive" camping area, if no hookups are needed.
