EJ Potter, AKA "The Michigan Madman" does a 10.3 second quarter with a 146 mph terminal speed.
He built this bike by putting a small block chevy in an old Indian frame. Rather than dealing with a clutch, transmission, etc, it just had a direct chain drive from the end of the crank to the rear wheel. Watch closely in the video and you can see him put the bike up on the center stand. He just revved the motor and pushed it off the stand.
