Title: BMW Code reader
Post by: Stu87 on November 20, 2017, 08:44:50 PM
Does anyone have a GS-911 code reader for BMW's?

My R1200 GSA has a constant brake warning light and I was hoping I could get help reading fault codes.

I would be happy to pay for the help as I know the readers have limited number of VIN's they can be used with.

You're welcome.
Somewhere in one of my few remaining brain cells I remembered that thread, I just scrolled back a few pages to find it.

If that doesn't pan out, contact Lawnmower. He is involved in The Bike Shop in Leeds and owns a late model GS. I think he probably has access to one.

I do have a GS 911 and a socio scanner.
I'll take a read it for free.

Couple of questions first Stu87

Does the ABS work?
What year?
How many miles?
Does the light flash constantly or just stay solid?
Are the Pads worn all the way down?

Sorry if you Red this before I added questions. I got intrupted by a customer.

Thank you LawnmowerRG

The ABS does not work

It's a 2007 model

35,000 miles

The light is solid now but I swear it was flashing before and then turning solid. Now it's solid from start up.

The rear brake pads are worn to the lower limit

Most likely from your description I would say it's the (ABS) pressure modulator unit.

If thatbis what it is. I think Module Mater will rebuild it.

That's what I was thinking. I just thought reading the fault codes may help to confirm that?

Wednesday I will not be there
Clark will be. From 10-6
But I am way more familiar with the GS 911

Saturday advertised hours are 10-3
Call if you are going to be later because we rarely leave at 3 and I don't mind waiting on you.
I will send you a PM with my and the shop number. We get enough sales calls now. No need to give the bots more food.
