It's here again! Time to clean out your garages and make those donations of parts, gear, memorabilia and weird stuff you can't identify! Let me know when you have your pile ready and I'll arrange pick up or drop off.
For new members: Moto-Al has a booth at Vintage where we sell donated items to keep the financial end of the forum going. It's a great place to hang out with the cool kids and refresh yourself while you visit the festival. Keep your eyes on this thread for plans as we get closer.
Booth locale is Row K, lots 10-12
If I don't get thrown out, I'll draw the Moto-Al in chalk on the walkway just like I did last year. You won't be able to walk by us and say you didn't see us!
Just got an email that tickets and camping passes go on sale June 11. Get those quick for camping if you need them!!
I'll be there Friday, by 8 am, in the car, if anyone needs me to carry a load o'stuff.
I can be a drop off point for N. Alabama. I have a 40ft container for storage and an enclosed trailer for delivery to Vintagefest. Heck, if you have a big stash, I'll come pick it up.
I forgot the most important question!!
Who is interested in being on the Vintage Booth crew? If you are interested in volunteering for set up, Manning the booth and/or pack up/clean up, please let me know. If you are interested in a multi day stay with VERY flexible work hours(we just make sure one person is in the booth during all open hours), let me know. It comes with a three day pass!

You can put me on that list. The only pass I will need will be for the set-up day I think.( if that is needed) I can buy the others. Sorry, I can not be 100% sure of being able to be anywhere on time right now. My $ flow is still unsure regarding time and amount.
I plan on getting there Friday morning and I'll be there most all weekend so if you need some help I'm there.
I'm in for setup then Friday maybe, and Sunday

Me! Me! I've already got the days booked off, and I'm available to set up as early as Wednesday or Thursday, whatever day they let the vendors in this year. I plan to stay all weekend, through Sunday.

You can drop them at Kris Cook's house, or I can meet you in Bham or Fultondale area any week day.
I'm in for setup! Will bring donations with me
I have a BUNCH of gear from the Harvie Woolley Foundation for Wayward Motorcycle Boys, I will load it up and deliver to Leeds next week.
Just a reminder:
If you have donations, contact me for pickup!
Is Rodney taking donations at his shop?
I have a few items in my van that can go.

Yes!
Bring them on out. I got the trailer out and fired up the generator. Probably move it closer to the house and wash it up some time this week.
We are here! We are kinda sorta set up... Make your plans to visit our booth at the Swap Meet, booths K10-12. Enter the swap meet at the last gate and come straight down the isle, on the left. Planning to be there early Sunday. I haven't seen most of you guys in way too long.
Made it home safe. Perfect timing as I dodged some nasty storms. I only got some light rain.
What a day!!! I'll post some pics tomorrow.
Great day, lotsa fun.

Great day looking at all the old stuff and visiting with old friends!
What a great year! A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated. Master crew members
@LawnmowerRG,
@2smoke,
@IceCold4x4 and
@maydaymike made it happen with ease. Everyone who visited the site helped out with knowledge(when I didn't know the answer to a question on parts), selling, moving boxes, and most importantly, planning for Harvie's memorial at Vintage.
@KrisCook was a mad woman with the sales!
@klaviator and @dredman rocked the memorial parade lap. @catang5oh and catang,jr were movers and shakers any time we needed them.
@kylepeterson,
@Mulley,
@bblass, and
@Fencejumper09 worked while they visited. And we couldn't have made any of it happen without all the members who donated to the cause. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. If I did, speak up! Next year I'm keeping a list for this feeble mind!
Things are shaking up next year. Make plans NOW to drop by and see what we've changed 8)
Thank you Karla and buzz for your hard work in the planning, even if buzz's quick hack for solar power left a small amount to be desired lol. Hopefully next year a new layout will be more elegant and cater to sales and our members relaxation a bit better. Some of the proposed upgrades involve a tv and a grill and some better ability to run fans all day. I know we all like a better place to hang out and thst's the goal for next year. All of us that run this little shebang would love any members input on what would make it a better experience for you all.
And once again thanks to everyone who donated and pitched in with the help on setup or tear down. Helping other members is really what I love about this forum.

@Chitza , Thank you for everything you do for the forum and for always making sure that vintage fest is a capstone event! It was wonderful hanging out with everyone this weekend. The setup was terrific as always. Already looking forward to next year!
I had a great time this year. A big thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this such a success. I especially want to thank Karla who is the real hero here. Karla, without you I doubt we would have a Motorcycle Alabama tent. The event just wouldn't be the same without it.
I'm working on a ride report of my time at this event this year in the ride reports section:http://www.motorcyclealabama.com/rides/index.php?topic=3682.0 (http://www.motorcyclealabama.com/rides/index.php?topic=3682.0)
it was an acceptable event.

Hey guys.
Sorry I have been slammed this month. Working 60 hour weeks and running every single weekend. Vintage, Moto camping, then Stone Mountain Highland Games last weekend, camping again next weekend.
I love the idea of solar, and it works on a certain scale. I'm not sure why you didn't use the generator in the trailer? Then make sure the solar is charged for the evening, but I wasn't there the whole time.
Anyway. Thank you to all that helped make this thing happen. Karla, John, Wayne, and Mike were awesome. All the people that came in later to man the tent and sale, sale, sale. I have some things working to help make things a little better and overall easier next year. I am excited to see what Buzz and Karla come up with on the trailer.
Then a special thanks to those that help pull off the Memorials to Springer. I had a rocky relationship with him over the years. We always remained friends though. Most people would have dropped you and moved on. It speaks to his Character that he could work problems and move on as friends. For that he holds a special place in my heart. Not to mention all the tires we ate up together.
So if you want friends like that remember. Miles make Friends. Cover miles with people. It will create a bond that is hard to break.
