Fork Benders / Re: Hwy 65 in Paint Rock Valle...

With the amount of traffic we have, Hwy 65 clears up pretty fast after the storms.

I rode up to Princeton and to the race track last night. It was a little chilly on the ride home at 11

I appreciate it.  The tires and brakes are on.  Now to bleed the clutch and brakes.  Oil replaced and radiator fluid checked...  I'm a bit concerned about the tank though.  It doesn't appear to the the factory tank.  I'm not sure what they were doing with it.  As soon as we get back, I'll be looking to replace it with the original tank.

The bike was purchased in Robertsdale.  For 16,500 miles, its a bit rough. Hopefully all the fluids will bleed out fine today and I'll take it on its first ride.

The bike should be back along the coast fairly soon.  My cousin lives in Gulf Shores and I'm working on building a new home near Elberta.

We rode through the area yesterday.  CR8 was in great condition.  65 had a bit of gravel in some places but overall wasn't bad.  CR33 was really rough but that wasn't due to the storms.  It just needs to be repaved.

Can't believe anyone would ride fast on this road. I'm shocked!

Looks like it is coming along.

That tank emblem MSF looks like the logo a local shop here in Robertsdale uses. Motorcycle Freaks.

Hope all works out and you enjoy Maggie Valley.

Open Discussion about Motorcycles / Honda ST1300 Project
Last post by Gearbanger - May 10, 2024, 06:56:23 PM
I got this project because we are supposed to be going on a weeklong ride to the Maggie Valley area this week.  Well my cousins bike (FJR1300AE) decided it didn't want to shift.  So he found this bike on marketplace last minute for a good price.  It was near the coast so it has a bit of corrosion on the aluminum parts and the wrong gas tank but overall it's not too bad with 16,500 miles on it.

Anyway, I'm rushing to do all the fluids, tires, brakes, and just a once over on everything else to ensure its road ready.

Exactly....  We are about to take a trip to Maggie Valley and my cousins bike (Yamaha FJR1300AE) decided it didn't want to shift.  So he bought this Honda ST1300 last minute cheap and I'm against the clock going through all the fluids, brakes, tires, etc. to get it ready for the ride.
