Title: Power LIne Trails
Post by: JBMFT on November 15, 2015, 04:36:19 PM
So power line trails...private property and shouldn't ride them or game on?
Best case scenario of getting caught is you get a warning or asked to leave, worst case if trespassing charges or shot?
Not saying I did this today but I might have done this today.  ;)

I ride them all the time.  The way I see it, if there is not a gate or a no trespassing sign, you are good to go.  I do not know the law, but assume that will keep me out of jail at least the first time.

Trespass is a misdemeanor property crime.  You are not allowed to shoot somebody on your property, unless you want to face felony assault or murder charges.  The only exception is the "castle doctrine", so don't ride into their homes.

Edit to add: If some a-hole shoots you because he did not know the law, it will still hurt.
