Title: And the MC torch gets passed on...again!
Post by: 01YZF6 on March 03, 2016, 06:46:21 PM
After months of studying, prepping the bike, and passing his MC license test, it was time to pass on the love of 2 wheels to my youngest son, Brenden!
As with Cameron, it was imperative to instill the great importance of ATGATT too!
Over the last 6 months, we have acquired the entire riding ensemble.

Today, for the first time, he mounted the mighty "Lil Lee", and we began what will be one of many many lessons to becoming a safe and successful rider!
As with Cameron, I am extremely ecstatic on what he accomplished today!

Note of warning... 25 year old levers, no matter how good they look, will crack!  Poor kid almost freaked when he went to grab the front brake and it just popped out in pieces.... Lol

New ones on order!  FYI, Honda is such a pita to order parts for... They used the same levers (and many other small parts) from the 70's and 80's bikes, atv's, etc as they do in the later models...lol
Finding the source part# for this year bike, then cross referencing it to other Honda bikes allowed me to find the parts for half the price!

LOL it's a lever if ya can't figure out how to make a decent one in a couple of years I dunno why you would need to keep changing it. . .

Honda does to a few things correctly, however parts numbers isn't one of them.

Tell me about it!  Using their long stock# nets $18 for a lever.... Finding the source part # (44-1008) yielded hundreds of results from many years of different bikes for $5-8....lol

Back in business ! After getting the shipping run around, the levers came in friday !  so yesterday and today we hit the parking lot again !  I am impressed with his ability to LISTEN to direction, and ADAPT to his environment...

here are a few short clips of progress...
