Title: New Years Day 2026
Post by: jrobinson on January 05, 2026, 12:08:45 PM
Left the house around 11 am on New Years Day with weather in the low 50's, wearing a light jacket and gloves. Headed out on Hwy 65 N. Stopped in Huntland for a short break. Stopped at Falls Mill, but they were closed for the winter. Headed to Farris Creek Bridge on the Elk River, then on to Lois, TN. Traveled just east of Lynchburg, stopping in Tullahoma for fuel and a snack.

I rode by the church where my Dad was pastor before he died in 1989. Then continued on Hwy 130 to Winchester, up to Kelly Springs and on to Skyline. Turned right on Hwy 146 and back down the mountain into Paint Rock Valley. Map and Relive track is below.

130 miles, 3hr 36min time, 36.1 MPH average  50-63 deg temps with sunshine.
