I know where this is!!  Not sure that you're still looking at Alabama from that angle!!  If so, you can see the edge from there!!

I have a pic somewhere, but can't seem to find it.  Would love to go get this one if I can find the time.

I was there @ 4:15, and there were a couple of patrons that had just pulled up and were walking in.

I've been in there a couple of times for work in the past, one night being "Amateur Night"...which apparently means none of the regular girls showed up for work. They enlisted two female customers that had come in with their dates to get on stage. They certainly weren't "dancer" material, and I guess their dates felt bad that no one was tipping...the guys eventually started giving their own girlfriend money.

And the knocking of the wooden blocks on the tables... :)

just because someone asked about it, there is no gate or admission to get to this tag, daytime is best in my opinion unless you have a great flash/camera set up, which I don't.

I DID! I can't make the tag, but it brings back memories. I hope to be more involved soon, like I used to be. I would hate it when Bluesman would move the tag to Montgomery! We lost Bluesman today. He will be missed.

I know. That is part of the my route for the "Last ride of the year".
IF they had a ferry ride leaving with in the hour, I would have taken it across and came back that way. But no oooohhhh, they picked the time I was there to do something to the ferry. ;)

I had planned to go to Monroeville Saturday to get a previous tag, but this game picked up (and I am glad for it).  I considered a solo ride up for this tag instead but had some friends who wanted to ride so we went north, but not that far.  I really expected someone to get it over the weekend.  I don't have any other free weekends for awhile, so I'll just watch and continue to use Google to learn about different parts of the state.  ;D

To add to the confusion, there are 2 separate markers showing this. The other one is 20-30 miles south of this one...Yea, I know, only in Alabama.  ::)

I've been to the one shown before on my last motorcycle, though I didn't realize there was another marker (private land in Chilton Co?).  I knew the designated center had moved (with the addition of "state land" off the coast) even before this marker was erected.

True dat. That other one accounts for the land that's under water the state added. Since I didn't get the "scuba" accessory on the Africa Twin, I do not think I will ever ride that extra 20 miles,  ;) so for me, it don't count.  :D

I grabbed the tag from Mojo there in 2013 on BR 1.0.

Nice riding in the area for sure. I almost hiked the area...

That was my first extended ride on the Ninja, forgot it had a smaller tank than my previous bike. I sputtered into a gas station on Hwy. 72 on fumes and nervous perspiration.

Aftrer grabbing the above tag, I went in search of a spot that I had seen Debandi take a photo with his KTM awhile back (and it showed as a memory on his FB page recently). It seems that at some point in the interim, someone decided they didn't want visitors at the location anymore.

I hopped the makeshift barrier to grab a photo of the actual mill ruins. There is a pull-off on the roadside next to the creek that is the actual photo tag spot (unless you can get your bike next to the mill...bonus points). From there you can still see the mill dam in the background.

New Tag. State Rock, not far at all from the previous tag, the Hamilton VOR. It's about 2/10 ths of a mile down a easy dirt road. Make that up a dirt road , because I think the road is closed on the North end.

I  was surprised by the amount of thru-traffic during just the limited amount of time I was there...and the locals don't slow down at all.

New tag...

Keeping with the wood bridge theme, on a smaller scale.

Located on a road that shares the name with a nearby cave that was a popular Speakeasy during the Prohibition era in Blount County.

From the south, there will be @ 3/4 of a mile of hardpack dirt road...street bikes shouldn't have a problem.

From the north, the last 1/2 mile or so is hardpack with potholes...but before that, about a mile of asphalt that's in worse shape than either dirt section. Still shouldn't be a problem on a street bike...might have to weave around potholes.

@Guidedawg , I had every intention of picking up this tag. I left Guntersville Monday morning with a route on the GPS to take me there. And my plan was to move the tag to "The Big Fish movie house" Yea Susan and I have seen those HGTV episodes. But I guess on one of the many reroutes that my GPS was doing when I stopped or circled a block, it decided to change my entire route home. By the time I noticed it wasn't going that way I was miles off track. I need to learn to put things in as waypoints. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Oh well.... Somebody will pick this up.

If this was used before then I couldn't find it. It was suggested that we show the old milk carton some love.  Every time I see it l am surprised that it's still there.

Yes, I can vouch that it has been used before, but that was back on the "old" site and probably long before you joined us.  The time has been so long there is absolutely nothing wrong with using such a unique landmark again, as has been done with other spots.  So, in other words - I know where that is ;)

I realized I had forgotten to post a new tag!  I was riding some pretty rural roads in areas that I doubt anyone else will travel so I waited to get back to a metropolitan area and very close to an Interstate
