Title: Modified Tent
Post by: Chuck & Susan on May 25, 2018, 11:41:16 AM
Chuck's modified tent for his upcoming ride. Took a tent and cut out the bottom to fit over the trailer. Testing it out during this tropical weather we are having.

Do tell:  What upcoming ride necessitates this tent/trailer?  Sounds interesting!

Will be interesting if a couple more planets will line up. When they do I'll post the all the details.

But the first leg will be to follow US Hwy 45 that starts in Mobile up to the RFP #13, Tennessee Dirt Devil Camp & Ride, June 8-10.

Then wondering north for a week or so before attending a 9-1-1 conference in Nashville.

Maybe 2-3 weeks on a "Ride About" and running 1 up on the wing. The idea is with the tent that I can drape it over the open trailer and tighten a couple of lines at the bottom  and poof camp is done. So is the idea anyway. I have been wrong before.....  :-[

Well @merc16 Not really anything to update. While yes @springer It was a great plan it totally fell apart  in stages.

The sudden Death of a very close friend and president of your local chapter of Fire and Iron MC halted going to RFP#13.
I waited till the next Friday to leave for Nashville. And did enjoy a relaxing ride up. And did very briefly get to say hello to @jrobinson the next morning. And maybe an hour later I received a text from Susan that she was in a local hospital and about to be transferred to a specialist surgeon at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola Fl. So at that point sitting in the opening session of the conference I showed my boss the text and let her know I HAD to go. I mounted the bike and set sail to Pensacola. That was a interstate run only stopping for fuel. Oh I did keep it at the speed limit.... Plus or Minus ~20 More plus than minus. But did arrive about an hour after she left recovery.

Now for everyone that might want to know, Susan perforated an intestine and had had a abdomen full of stuff that wasn't supposed to be there.  But after a couple of weeks of treatment in the hospital she came home and is doing fine. If you call eating Gerber baby food fine for a month or so. But she will be ok.

While Susan was in Pensacola My father who had just started chemo at 79 was rushed to ICU in Fairhope Al. We almost lost him. But after a couple of weeks he is stable now and undergoing rehab to get him back on his feet. Looks like he will be ok as well.

Oh and then to top things off... Mom yesterday twisted and broke her ankle. While not a life threatening injury she is in need of help too. So 3 patients at 3 different locations spread out over 20 miles and working is getting to be a task.

The past 3 weeks has been running between hospitals in Fl. and Ala. Please excuse the absence or being nonactive on the site but I AND Susan will be back soon. And I will be looking for a camp out to try out this modified tent that I have yet to do anything with. And believe me when everyone is back to health soon I will want to get out and just relax on a camping trip. I hope with the cool kids on here. I'll be watching the post till the timing is right and drop in on y'all again.

Thanks
Chuck

Wow Chuck ! That is one heck of a whirlwind you're in right now ! I hope and pray that everyone heals up and recovers. It's a good thing your family has a strong man like you to hold it together.
