Title: Premix Cleans Faceshields
Post by: DonJuan on January 07, 2019, 09:33:10 PM
So I started cleaning a years worth of splatters and exoskeletons off of a few helmets yesterday.  After a bit, I noticed that the shields were streaking and just weren't drying as the cleaner should. Then I recalled drying up spilled 50:1 with that shop rag. :o

It turns out that a small amount of two stroke oil mixed with Scott's anti fog cleaner really does the trick and shines up those helmets. Fogging seemed to be less of an issue yesterday and today! 8)

In my saddlebag, I carry a small can of chain lube to use on multi-day trips and a can of Plexus for my faceshield/windscreen. Both cans are nearly identical in size and easy to mix up if you're not paying atrention.

From experience, chain lube will ruin a faceshield.
