Title: Tires for the cheap guy.
Post by: LawnmowerRG on August 22, 2020, 08:14:03 AM
So, for those of you that want to be frugal. We have a tire for you.
At the shop we got our first customer returning on a set of Dunlop Elite 4.
He has 14,000 and change on the tires. They are not completely worn out. He plans to make a run to the beach and back on them.

And you say. Yea on that low powered 250 you should get that from a touring tire.
These tires are on a Triumph Rocket 3. He does pull a camper at times. He does not check tire pressures. He also like the beach so he makes regular long runs and covers ground on hot sun baked pavement. Not the worst treatment of a tire. Also he's not babying them either.

I will get some pictures and let you know the final mileage when he comes in for replacements.

So here we are a little over 15,000 on a Rocket 3 that occasionally pulls a camper.

It's not new. The rubber off the center strip is starting peel a little.

A photo of a new one beside it would tell a better story.   :)
