Title: Old RR bed Loop
Post by: thinwater on May 12, 2021, 05:58:34 PM
I ran this ride three times to get to this version, editing the route each time.  This is a Light Dual Sport ride, no water crossings, good for cooler weather or just after downpours.  Passes Delina and the Sunchaser Market in Flat Creek TN which is a gas station with a cafe inside and 100% nonethanol gas.  I call it Old RR Bed Rd Loop because I started it at the end of Old RR Bed Rd.

I posted one of the scout rides for this in the Alabama Dual Sport section and everyone was hindered elsewhere.  https://www.motorcyclealabama.com/rides/index.php?topic=4145.0

The surprises you find on an explore ride!  Some of this is favorites above Delina but in a different orientation.  A lot of new and new dirt was found.  The loop is 4.2 hours if ran continuous, and you know that doesn't happen so with breaks every hour-ish and lunch in between this would take up a full day.

Now that looks like some mighty fine countryside exploration; thanks for putting that video (and route) together and sharing!

The bottle chapel looked particularly interesting.

The Flat Creek Bottle Chapel is private, but they have a FB page and you can schedule a visit.  I just happened to stop to take picture from the rd and the lady was working her flowerbeds and motioned me on in.  I asked if I could take close pictures and got volunteered for the guided tour :D     Just FYI if you want to go see it.

Another round on the same loop, it got cut short due to rain but we managed to get home just damp not drenched.  It was a successful ride.

Man Thinwater, your giving away all our Tennessee secrets!   ;D

When I am in an area with traffic I long to be back in the hills of Tennessee riding the mostly deserted roads.

I'm not giving it away, people had to suffer riding with me to find it. :D  And I haven't been upping the traffic by placing it on gravelmaps.  The best way to enjoy them is get out there and look for them, what a surprise I had the first time I went down those nice ones!

Dog barking at a camel! That's not a normal encounter!  :D
