Title: Big Red Store ride, Saturday July3rd
Post by: klaviator on July 01, 2021, 10:21:43 AM
Meet: Chevron 20531 Huntsville Brownsferry RD (corner of HSV-Brnsferry rd and 31)
Time: 8:45 / KSU 9:00

From there we'll ZigZag our way up to the Big Red Store in Appleton, TN.  Some of the roads will be unpaved so I don't recommend a street bike for this ride. There won't be any gnarly singletrack or anything like that so a serious dual sport or knobbies won't be required either.

I'm still working on a route but I know there are plenty of good roads in this area.

The Big Red store will have food, vendors and music. They are only open a couple of days a year. I've stopped there several times but it has never been open. We'll eat lunch and spend some time there before riding some more. I'm not sure where we'll finish up. This is an area where I have ridden but haven't led any rides so expect to to some stopping to figure out where we are.

Looks like I won't be riding this morning. Having some front brake issues with the 790.

Brakes!  We don't need no stinking brakes! :D

Bummer.  Hope you can get it sorted out quickly.

We ended up with four riders, perfect weather and a great ride!  It met all the criteria for a true adventure ride.

Someone had something fall off their bike.

We checked out the 4rth of July festival at the Big Red Store.

We saw some interesting vehicles.

Someone shot a canon!

I even had goat stew for lunch!

We got lost a few times but always managed to get unlost ;D

Thanks everyone who showed up.

I waved from a group of 6 departing as you guys were arriving. We decided the line for stew was too long. And ended up going all the way to Delina because everything else interesting we could think of was closed.
