I will be in Alexander City July 27th and 28th for business.  Would love to meet up with some BR members for dinner or something.

If it can be planned, I would be willing to stay for the 29th and 30th to do some riding.  Would love for some of the local BR members to plan a ride or two as I don't know that area that well.

Let me know if anyone has ideas or suggestions.  I would have to drive the car and come home after business if nothing is planned.   Any excuse to ride the bike........ :)  Help a brother out!!!!

I will not know my schedule until tomorrow.

Guidedawg

It looks like I'm free.  There is a possibility of working on brakes, but those are always optional so that could possibly be postponed  ;D
I'm tentatively in.

I am staying at the Super 8 Alexander City.  How about we meet at the Huddle House near there about 9 am Saturday morning?  I will be there early to get coffee.

Thanks

I have talked some with Guidedawg. We are thinking about meeting in Montgomery at 8am at a Waffle House by Lagoon park and have a KSU time of 8am. That would put us in Alex City at around 9:15am. From there I was thinking about riding 49 up to the Cheaha scenic highway with a stop off at the state park and then head back south through Ashland for lunch at a place that I always eat at after backpacking in the wilderness area up there. Then head back to Montgomery/ Alex city via Hwy 9.

Here is a link to the route I had in mind...

Of course I am open to anything anyone would like to do.... Just let me know. The only part of the route that is questionable is at the southern end of the scenic highway near Adams Gap. The road turns into a hard packed gravel road. I have been down it before but at a very slow rate of speed. As long as no one has any issues with that I think this would be a fun ride.

Let me know what you think.

That first route in the Talladega Forest looks awesome!!! Time is no issue for me. And I can meet yall earlier in the route somewhere if it would flow better for you. If yall think time of heat will be a issue for ether of you we can take the other ride. No problem here. Just tickled to get to ride with fine people. Nice job fellas!!

Then I'm all for getting a slightly earlier start (say KSU at Huddle House at 8:30 or 8:45?) and taking the mountainous ride.  I'd just like to be back home early afternoon which is certainly doable, and I can always peel off if others wish to leisurely explore.  Lots of nice stuff up there.

Chuck & Susan

Nope.... Nothing in mind... Just a good day riding.... Oh and like NiceGoat said.... Coffee and Pie.... But i'll stock up on that early... lol

Deep thought: "Pie and coffee are as important as gasoline."
