Installed new Barnetts clutch plates and springs in the VTX over the weekend. I was a bit nervous at first but I had seen a video and a couple of good write ups on the procedure and it was pretty straight forward. Went ahead and got new bolts and washers too. I knew the clutch on the 1800 has been a weak spot in these bikes and I was noticing some slipping. Not bad but it was there. I didn't realize how worn out that clutch was until I put the new clutches in. A really significant difference. I've got a little over 52000 miles on it and it was definitely time to be replaced. Anyone thinking about doing this don't hesitate to go ahead. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 10 I'd say this is about a 5. The hardest part was getting the case apart. It took a little more persuasion than I had anticipated but once the seal was broken then it came right off. Sorry I didn't make any pics to share but my hands were pretty full.
