Nice Goat

I am a chronic liar when it comes to motorcycle ownership.  Mostly I lie to myself.

"This bike is perfect."
"I'm gonna keep this one forever."
"It doesn't need anything else."

Six months ago, I told myself that the KLR was the perfect dual sport.  After picking it up twice from a nearly upside down incline twice in one day, I decided that I was completely wrong.

So what did I do?

Another thing.

But this one is perfect, I swear.

It's not perfect!

But I'm sure it will be when you are done farkling it.

Then you'll move on to something else ::)

It IS perfect! Did you know when you drop it and hang on to the throttle of one of those things, it will do a perfect donut on its side, with you as the rider jumping over it like a cowboy doing lasso tricks? What is more perfect than that? Ask me how I know 8)

The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem. I call dibs on this one.

Not that I have a problem or anything.
Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however,  extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity.

If it don't scare you, you ain't doing it right.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Well...they do say the first step towards recovery is admitting you got...er...ah...something or another.

So you should be good!  ;)

Still won't be fun to pick up!

If picking it up is the problem... Just ride with friends! So they can do the work! Then you can justify getting whatever size bike.

You don't know his friends...we laugh and take pictures when someone drops a bike.  :)

If you have the financial means , knock yourself out.

No help here.

UPS is rearranging logistical assets as we speak...it's about to look like a brown version of the Berlin Airlift in Vinemont. :)

I picked up my KLR twice today and was thinking <450cc on the way home.  A nice KLX400/ 450, perhaps.

Of course, I'll keep the 650 for the more comfy road and gravel rides; and because my wife doesn't think more bikes will fit in the garage. 8)

Ordered some stiffer springs for the forks and the shock.  I'm 30lbs over weight and I like to carry stuff, so it's a "need", not a "want".
