 Hi, Everyone!

I'm back above water at last, having recovered (I think) from the four days we spent in Florida, followed by a feverish "catch up" on work obligations as soon as we returned.

For this week, here's the general information and entertainment section (sorry--I can't transfer all the photos from my original send):

For those who follow Ducati and/or MotoGP, here's an interesting article about Ducati's Moto GP team manager, Davide Tardozzi:

https://www.cycleworld.com/ducati-motogp-team-manager-davide-tardozzi-lives-to-work?con=TrueAnthem&dom=tw&lnk=TA&src=SOC&utm_campaign=trueAnthem:+Trending+Content&utm_content=5c4a97d39ac5640001f8d021&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter

While the adrenaline of racing and speed is coursing through our veins, here's an article from Cycle World discussing the performance mysteries of two-stroke engines:

https://www.cycleworld.com/how-did-engineers-grind-down-two-stroke-engine-problems?con=TrueAnthem&dom=tw&src=SOC&utm_campaign=trueAnthem:+New+Content+(Feed)&utm_content=5c4876401fb2cd00016687cc&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter

Here's another great article from Cycle World Editor, Nick Ienatsch.  In it he discusses riding tips that can benefit all of us:

https://www.cycleworld.com/more-riding-tips-for-new-year-from-professional-instructors?con=TrueAnthem&dom=tw&lnk=TA&src=SOC&utm_campaign=trueAnthem:+Trending+Content&utm_content=5c48817400bd47000154c9e6&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter

And here's another article from Cycle World on the same subject:  Riding Tips Part II:

https://www.cycleworld.com/track-focused-riding-tips?con=TrueAnthem&dom=tw&src=SOC&utm_campaign=trueAnthem:+New+Content+(Feed)&utm_content=5c5a207fb055540001aacf39&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter
Here's another David Mann-style throwback to 1969 and Easy Rider...Nice painting!

While taking a ride on the wild side, here'a an article about famed bike builder and former Indian Larry accomplice, Paul Cox.  For those of you into the Chopper scene, it takes an interesting look at the evolution of the chopper builders' world as the "Easy Rider" generation of chopper lovers ages into trikes and tamer forms of transportation:

Who wouldn't like to ride their motorcycles through the Himalayas??!!

Instead of touring the Himalayas, do you find yourself feeling like this?

Indeed, it seems at times like Spring will never come...

I know, I know:  Facebook is our Club's platform.  I count that as Facebook's only redeeming quality.  But just in case you'd like to take a break from Facebook, you might just feel better...

And the last item of general information:  As legendary Paul Harvey used to say:  "Stand by for news!"  Yes, our newest member Stu, aka "ThatManStu" has developed a real-time activities calendar for us which will soon be available for viewing on Facebook at any time (you can take a month off, come back and find that the calendar is still tracking along fully up-to-date!)  You'll see it appear on Facebook very soon, and as soon as we've got it up and running, I'll post the link here so that you can add it to your favorites and check it any time.

another one to add, even though it's a bit further afield,

Classic Motorcycle Day, May 19th.

http://classicmotorcycleday.org/

I used to be involved in the organization back when it was British Bike Day

"Our event is evolving once again. What started out as British Motorcycle Day in the early 1980s and changed to British & European Classic Motorcycle Day in 2000 will transform into just plain Classic Motorcycle Day for 2019. Still featuring Classic motorcycles that are 1983 or older, we are expanding to include Japanese motorcycles in addition to British & European marques."

I sure appreciate that you brought these to my attention.  I had not yet run down British in the Blue Ridge, and I had never heard of this event before.  Now they're both on the calendar(s)!
