We needed to get out because it was Saturday and the weather was stupendous- 49 degrees at daybreak.  Nice and cool for May 15 in central AL.  Only 3 of us were able to go - but none the less, we had a good time.  The wild roses are really blooming in Central Alabama and looked pretty.  Traffic was surprisingly light- always a good thing.  Maybe the fear of the gas shortage kept the masses off the road?  Headed out from Wetumpka through Redland and Friendship to Tallassee and then up Macedonia to Hwy 49 to Walnut Hill.  Had some coffee, visited for awhile, talked about motorcycles, had a fellow rider admire my bike and ask about it- that's always nice.  Then headed back on Hwy 50, down Cherokee Trail and back onto Redland Road.  Just a little 75 mile ride with a few twisties. Saw a bunch of bikes out today.  Got back to the Redland area and had a cool beverage and some chocolate ice cream.  Perhaps a nap is in order for the afternoon.  We'll do it again next week- Lord willing - possibly with a BBQ sandwich added if we go much further.

Sounds like it was an enjoyable day!! Enjoy the ride and the motorcycle brotherhood of talking motorcycles.

Hope to catch up with you sometime on a ride.

Nice area and it sounds like a good time.  There were a lot of bikes out this weekend.  I had another trip planned and was worried there for awhile.
