Here's my weekly copy/paste of this week's North Alabama Vintage Motorcycle Club newsletter and activities update:

Hi, Everyone!

Hope all of you were able to take full advantage of the beautiful riding weather this weekend!  Breakfast was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed some great stories from the Vintage Meltdown in Hendersonville from those who attended.  From all the stories and pictures, we all agree that this is an event we want to take part in next year.

Upcoming Events:

May 13th:  Garage Crawl to Byron Tidwell's shop.  Most of us have seen his amazing bikes, and this is our chance to see where he works his magic.  The plan is to meet for breakfast as usual, and then follow Byron from Blue Plate II to his shop.  We'll leave the Blue Plate at 9:30 am.

May 19th-21st:  Barber Historics.  At least four members of the Club are participating.  If you want to participate and need more information, contact RJ Reynolds thru Facebook.

May 20th:  Regular breakfast at Blue Plate II.

May 21-28:  Deal's Gap Two-Stroke Meet http://www.3cyl.com/mraxl/dealsgap.htm.  Mike Long and a couple of other members are planning to attend.

May 27-28:  Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club's Annual 24-Hour Off-Road Endurance Race, Maplevale, AL.  I'm tracking that both Al Goodwin and Nice Goat are participating this year.  https://www.facebook.com/perrymountainmc/

May 27-28:  Ton Up British Motorcycle Rally, Nashville, TN https://www.facebook.com/events/652804724899447/.  Sean Naylor and others are planning to attend.

May 27th:  Regular breakfast for those still in town for the Memorial Day weekend...Anybody want to put out ride invitation?

June 10th:  "Meet in the Middle" Gathering in Chattanooga.  We'll ride from the Blue Plate II parking lot to Nikki's Drive-In in Chattanooga.  There, at noon, we'll link up with our Vintage Motorcycle Club colleagues from parts far and wide.   After lunch, we'll (tentatively) participate in a scenic ride, then peel off to return to Huntsville/Athens in time for the flat track racing event in Athens.  We need a ride leader to take us to Nikki's Drive-In in Chattanooga.

June 10th:  For anyone unable to travel to Chattanooga but looking for a riding opportunity, BamaRides is hosting a Gymkhana in Falkville.  This is a low-speed motorcycle handling course in which you can hone your cornering, turning, stopping and other skills on a controlled course. http://bamarides.com/ride/index.php?topic=1771.0

June 10th:  Flat Track racing at the Sheriff's arena in Athens.  Please see the event poster that Tom Schuman posted on our Facebook page.  Currently, Tom Schuman and Frank Costeglia are planning to race.  https://www.facebook.com/TNValleyflattrackers/

Also, Sammy is tracking a motorcycle drag racing event going on over the June 10th weekend.  I found "Kings of Grudge" scheduled for June 10th at the Huntsville Dragway, along with a big, all-bikes drag racing weekend scheduled for July 28-30.  http://www.huntsvilledragway.us/2017/july28-30/  If you want more information about motorcycle drag racing on June 10th, please PM Sammy Stetler on Facebook to get the information you need.

June 17th:  We'll do our monthly Garage Crawl.  This time, we're heading out to H&L Cycle Shop in Hazel Green, where owner Henry and Lead Mechanic Toby will give us a shop tour.  They specialize in Vintage Harleys, and always have a shop full of projects.  It's a really fun place to visit, and I know this will be fun.

June 23-4:  British in the Blue Ridge Rally in Hiawasee, GA at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds.  Frank, Sean and others are planning to attend.  http://www.gabma.us/event/2017-bibr-rally/

Finally, please note that Linda Robinson is preparing to place orders for more shirts, hats and other NAVMC SWAG.  She's looking for any suggestions you have regarding types/styles of shirts, types, styles and sizes of decals, etc.  Also, if you have a jacket/shirt or something that you either wish to have embroidered or screen printed with the NAVMC logo, just arrange to get the item(s) to her, and she'll give them to the vendor for processing along with her order.  One of the items I suggested is NAVMC license plates we can put on the front of our cars.  She's going to talk to the vendor about pricing.  Please PM Linda on Facebook with any specific ordering matters or suggestions.

Hope all of you have a great week, and I'm looking forward to photos on Facebook from all this week's ride-in gatherings!

See you on the road!
