Hi, Everyone!

With the commencement of 2018, I am excited to introduce NAVMC's next evolution of our weekly newsletter!  To keep pace with our growing presence in the world of vintage motorcycling, our newsletter will continue to develop as well.  In the future, we'll offer more feature stories and we'll increase our coverage of both upcoming and ongoing activities.  I'll also eagerly solicit YOUR submissions (anything from a paragraph and a picture, all the way up to a full-blown article) that we can share with fellow enthusiasts through this venue.  So:  send in your pictures and stories, and share your enthusiasm for vintage motorcycling with a readership of kindred spirits!

Already, 2018 is packed with activities, and there are more events announced all the time!  There is positively no way a vintage motorcycle enthusiast could get bored this year!  I've enclosed our January Activities Calendar, along with our Recurring Events Calendar.  I'm hoping to incorporate recurring gatherings from the Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile areas as well, so please share any recurring events that you're aware of.  I'll get them on the calendar!

Here is a quick list of upcoming events:

Breakfast at the Blue Plate Cafe II every Saturday...Even on December 30th!  Come on out!  Cafe owner Justin has allotted us a larger breakfast area, so there's plenty of room to bring a friend (or two).  The food is great, and you won't find more enjoyable breakfast company anywhere!

Dec 30th:  The Last Ride of the Year, to the Stagecoach Cafe in Stockton, AL.  I have had to withdraw from this ride, but at last word, Mike Ashbaugh and Raymond Cox are still planning to go.  Riders will converge from multiple states, either for breakfast or lunch, at the Stagecoach Cafe, and everyone embarks for home around 2 pm.

Jan 1st:  The Columbia, TN chapter of the CMA is hosting their 23rd annual Polar Bear Ride. https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_event/43664

Jan 12-14:  BMW owners will gather for their 35th Annual Winter Rally in Starke, FL.  https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_event/43469

Jan 27th:  There are three events to choose from:

- Easyriders Bike Show, Nashville.  This is a tour that travels across the nation, and will stop in Nashville over the weekend of Jan 27th.  https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_event/37968

- 12th Annual Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show.  I'll be attending this show, and would love to meet other NAVMC members while I'm there.  If any of you are going, please shoot me a note and let me know--would love to see you there!  https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_event/42175

- Blue Knights of Alabama 16th Annual Polar Bear [benefit] Ride in Albertville. https://allevents.in/albertville/blue-knights-al-xvi-polar-bear-ride-2018/1543013145792857#

Please let me know of any events I may have missed, and send me stories of the vintage motorcycle activities that interest you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

You bet, Goat!  Klaviator and JRobinson have been huge supporters of NAVMC up here in Huntsville, and we're collectively eager to develop closer relationships with vintage enthusiasts throughout central and lower Alabama this year, just as we have in the northern part of the state!  I want to develop and share vintage-related information in these weekly newsletters that ultimately make NAVMC and MC-AL vintage enthusiasts one big family!

Thanks for all you and the other administrators have done to build MC-AL into this exciting forum! :)
