Hi, Everyone!

At last, I'm back online after moving and needing three weeks to get our internet working!  Finally, I'm publishing a current issue of the Vintage Riders Digest!

First, a quick look back:

We had a couple of our members attend the - April 21-22:  Spring Vintage and 2-Stroke Bike Weekend at Two Wheels of Suches on April 21 and 22nd.  All indicators suggest it was a great time for those who could make it.

This year, we set a new standard for participation and variety of motorcycle presentations at the Athens Car and Bike Show.  We had a huge turnout of our own club's bikes, as well as RJ's renowned John Player Special Motor Home.  Additionally, Keith Perry, Crew Chief for Team Hammer (Suzuki GSXR Superbike Racing Team) had his semi-rig and four actual race bikes on display, and Madison Moto had a wide selection of Triumphs populating the street corner.  The Christian Motorcyclists Association had their tent set up, and provided fellowship, ministry and ice water to passersby throughout the day.  The star attraction in the show, however, was Skye Grant, displaying her in-progress Yamaha Enduro bike.  She had a display board showing all that she and her father, Scott, have accomplished since buying the bike and some parts for $10 at the Barber Vintage Fest last fall.  Finally, it was gratifying to watch our own Gordon Byrd win the Snap-On Tool Box given away by the Show's promoters this year.  Thankfully, he had his trailer on-hand, ready to pick up and transport the tool box right away!  Congratulations, Gordon!

- Frank Conseglia led the trip to Dahlonega, GA to spend the weekend riding and sharing the company of AMA Hall of Famer Graham Foster May 5-6.  Following his return, Frank posted that it was a great weekend and an unforgettable experience.

Now for our upcoming activities:

- May 12:  Barber Museum Special Presentation:   There will be a museum talk and demonstration on The Ancient Art of Tank Building on Saturday, May 12th from 1:00pm-3:00pm!
