@KevinB posted up a nice dual sport ride in the northern section of the Talladega National Forest. Here are some quick photos and a video of the shenanigans!

When you get a text from @kylepeterson that you don't want to miss tomorrow's dual sport ride you load up no matter what time it is!

We rolled out of the Coleman Lake parking lot before 10:00 am and were right on some primo gravel!

@AT-AT found the deep spot but luckily no one drowned a bike!

@motomark39 on his sweet KTM 640 ADV

@norton73 on the kawi!

@AT-AT on the 250X

It was a little dusty in a few spots but @kylepeterson is easy enough to keep up with to stay ahead of the dust!

He was getting a little sideways though!

Thanks to our leaders @KevinB and @custmmc

You meet some great people when you get off the couch haha!

You gotta watch out for the hoodlums though! @odell2115 I think the Wolverine is saying I hit him in the eye with some roost!

Also watch out for the shrubbery, this one cut me deep!

Lots of wheelies were massacred in pure mediocre fashion! @Brian A even joined in the shenanigans!

A little video of the fun! If you weren't there you should plan to make the next one!!!

Was that fresh gravel at the creek crossing on 224? I thought the county completely forgot about that road.

KevinB

224 doesn't look to have had any maintenance, but 202 has fresh gravel in spots.

That was a fun day. The fact that I showed up without a nice jacket, and shivered the first 30 minutes or so only added to the experience!

Great pics and video.

It was a fun ride, great to get out there with y'all.

Well that is awesome! It makes beautiful lumber!!

Makes a good bow too. My country relatives called the fruit horse apples,  I seriously doubt a horse would eat one

BuckeyeDoug

Known as hedge apples or "monkey balls" up north.  Trees were used to form hedge rows to reinforce the barbed wire, as the trunks are very sturdy and hold up well to horses/cows testing their rigidity.  And horses do eat them, although they ooze a sticky juice that reminds me of Elmer's glue!
