It's time to start planning and donating! If you are Spring cleaning your garage and have parts and/or Gear you want to get out of your way, let a moderator know and we can arrange for drop off or pick up. The trailer will be at the GK April 14 if you want to bring parts with you. I can also arrange to accept donations at the April 7 BBQ.

For our new members, an explanation:
MC-AL has a booth at the Vintage Swap Meet. Our members donate Moto related items for us to sell. We use the money to maintain the site. Popular items are dirt bike parts, helmets, tires with decent tread, and Moto Gear. Cruiser parts and UJM parts are also popular. If you know what your parts fit, it helps us when we set up and helps with the sale if you mark your items with painters tape stating year and model. You can also label with a suggested price if you know a general value.
I've got a carload of stuff, mostly Jim's gear, in my storage place. I'll get it to Rodney at some point.
There is plenty of room in my climate-controlled storage place, Lakeview Self Storage, at 32nd Street and 7nd Avenue South. If anyone is on the south side of Birmingham and wants to drop off items to donate, they can come by my office at 3016 7th Ave South. Just PM me and let me know when to look out the window.
We are one month out!! Woohoo!!!
If you have cast off parts, projects collecting dust, gear that no longer fits(because you LOST weight, of course) then bring it to us! We'll sell it at the Swap Meet and fund this puppy for another year! Let a mod know you have a donation and we will make arrangements to pick it up and let you know the nearest drop off point.
Now for the important stuff...what cool kids are gonna be there??
I'll be there in our usual spot, F-G 10, right next to Stevo's Ducati compound. I'll likely join you guys in the mornings for coffee.

Funny you should post this as I was going through and gathering up stuff for vintage. ;) Where do us Birmingham folks drop off?
I've got another pile of stuff, I'll be there again with the kazuma. If anyone needs to drop stuff in Cahaba heights just let me know.
@springer you can bring stuff to any mod in the Birmingham area or drop it at The Bike Shop in Leeds.

I can consolidate at Thursday Night Wrench Club for folks in the Birmingham area.
Free beer with every donation!
Hey guys! Time to post up your schedule for Barber attendance! Who will be there for set up on Thursday?
This is the place to find up to date info on the Festival. Parking, Swap Meet hours and the ever fluid rules, accommodations, directions, races, etc. anyone can post info here or ask questions. Starting Thursday, I will try to keep it as up to date as possible. Stay tuned!!

I can be, what about tickets? I plan on getting Friday, Saturday, and Sunday tickets. Do I need 1 for Thursday?
I'll be there Friday & Saturday all day but could only secure a 2 day kitchen pass (no easy task with an infant!) Happy to bring things out Friday morning if need be.
Thursday Friday and Sunday for me.
I will be at a charity car show. All day Saturday and then come strait to the after party.
Two of my swap meet partners are unable to attend this year. Any interest in two swap meet vendor wristband vouchers at $40 each? They will allow you to get into the park Wednesday through Sunday.

I need to buy my ticket tomorrow. Will probably be there with my dad on Saturday. This will be my my first time to vintage fest, hope to meet some of y'all there. Sorry I don't have any gear to contribute, but I'm sure next year with a little more planning I will.

You don't need special tickets to get into the swap meet.

Awesome. The website had me a little confused by that. I guess it was referring to a vendor pass.

Good! When we first starting setting up in the swap meet you had to have a;
1. A swap meet vender pass. (A different color arm band)
2. A swap meet ticket. (a arm band with yet another colored arm band)
Sssshh, top secret;
We would put the arm bands on as loose as possible, then when members showed up and couldn't get into the swap meet we would meet them and pass on the "correct" arm band. :D
Glad that is no longer necessary.
He said he is only going to be there Saturday, and he is not a vendor, therefore he does not need a vendor armband. He can visit the swap meet with a general admission ticket.
Update due to the awesome weather last week. I will have to work part of the day Thursday. Probably the best I can do is be ready by 2-3 o'clock with the trailer.
I'm down for Thursday afternoon through Sunday help if that'll help.

Are y'all going to be in the "New Swap Meet" area, or what I'm guessing is the old one? This is the event map that I'm referencing...
https://www.barbermuseum.org/events/barber-vintage-festival/in-the-park/park-map/
We are in the old swap meet area. Same spit for those who have been before.
@gulfcoaster, it's the first one on the left when you enter the park, across from the lake and Fan Zone area.

Awesome. Looking forward to finally meeting some of y'all!! Will probably go to the early Freestyle show at the Fan Zone and then head that way afterwards. I'm hoping to get there early enough to catch the Trials portion. I've never gotten to see a trials event outside of YouTube.
it's 11pm on a monday night and I'm in the garage getting close to tossing a set of carbs across the room. It's either fuel or spark but damnit I'll have a running bike that's not the kazuma by Vintagefest.....
may be able to come Friday, wont know until then
you can still buy tickets at the gate right?

If I don't see y'all sooner, I'll see you at the NAVMC BBQ Social up in Lot D. I'll be roaming around Saturday, and will come hang out at the tent for a while then.

Friday after lunch I should make my way over to the swap meet area. I have flyers for the after party Saturday to hand out and leave.

This will be my first swap meet, and since I joined today, my first chance to meet any of you MA people. Or BMW MOA. Or any other club I'm in (Klassic K-bike, etc.) :D
I'm looking at the site map, no idea where to go or where to start. I'm riding up from Auburn, so once I get my wristband and stuff from the hotel check-in, I'll ride over and park the bike somewhere.
Then, I'll get a chance to look for y'all. Thought I'd be riding up with my Motorcycle group from the Auburn location of Church of the Highlands, but seems I'm coming solo.
See y'all Friday, and maybe again on Sunday!
Chip - aka Island Boy
Hey chip
You are welcome to stop by the tents. We will have water and some stuff to snack on. Plenty of seats to rest your bum. Then there is the trailer load of parts.
Also come up to Rails and Ales Saturday night if you can. It about 5 miles from Barbers. The Gyd from "Throttled" and "loud pipes" pod cast will be there. Food truck and live music.
Anybody riding down Saturday morning from Decatur/Huntsville area? If I can get away from work I am ride down there. I have never made it to this event due to always working on these dates.

It's here! We're here! Come see us at the Swap Meet, Row K booths 10-12!! When you enter the park and take a left, the Swap Meet will be on your left directly across from the lake and the Fan Zone. There are 3 gates into the Swap Meet. If you enter the THIRD gate you will be on Row K. How easy is that??
There are some basic rules and things you should be aware of before you come out here:
1. Ticket purchase and Will Call will be at the Hampton Inn on Rex Lake Rd., on the left just before the entrance to Barber Motor Sports(BMS). It is well marked with Flashing Signs.
2. NO 4wheeled vehicles are allowed in to the park without special designation. Ride your bike! It's easy and free to park. You can park your bike at our booth!
NOTE: no motorized vehicles will be allowed in the Swap Meet during peak times(typically 9a-3p, but this is a fluid assessment of the crowd and can change at any time. The guys at the Swap Meet gates will let you know. You will have to push your bike to the booth during these times. If you enter the third gate, it's an easy, gradual downhill slope to our booth.
3. Helmets must be worn AT ALL TIMES when riding on the perimeter road.
4. Only street legal, motorized bikes are allowed on the perimeter road.
5. NO glass drink containers in the park. Please bring plastic or aluminum bottles or cans.
6. YOU MUST HAVE FUN when hanging out at the Moto-AL booth! There will be food, water, beer, Moto-AL stickers and all the cool kids!
LET'S DO THIS!!!
Come prepared. It's gonna be HOT.

What a great weekend! Not only did we sell a LOT of stuff, but we had a great time and saw some really cool people and bikes. Thanks to the crew to always show up and make this weekend happen for the Moto-Al forum and hustle to keep us up and going: Wayne, Rodney, Harvie and John. We wouldn't have made it without you guys. Others who showed up to help Justin, Kris, Mark and Bina(!!), David, Ben, Chuck and Susan, Chris, Kyle, Darrin and Mike. Lots of folks stopped by to see us. And we can't forget to mention all of you who donated parts and gear to sell. We had a blast!
