98 750. anybody know of anything I should look out for on one of these bikes?
When in trouble, shower down on the throttle. It either fixes the problem or ends the suspense.

Recent cam belts and valve adjustment.

Belts are a breeze to replace, but should be done every 2 years or 10k (?) miles.

Valves aren't hard if you can add and subtract in decimals, but the tools and shims can be a problem.

Paying someone else to do it can cost.

Otherwise, just all the usual stuff you'd examine on any used bike, chain, sprockets, bearings, etc...
