Hi, everyone!

I can't express how much fun it was to join so many of you for this (my first) Barber Vintage Festival.  Now I understand why the NAVMC family shared such excitement following their return from Barber last year!  If you haven't done so already, go to Facebook and visit the North Alabama Vintage Motorcycle Club site.  There are boatloads of pictures and videos of all the great stuff that took place, in spite of the event having to close a day early due to the storms.

As you likely already know, the 14th annual Barber Vintage Festival is already scheduled for October 5-7, 2018, so mark your calendars and start dropping coins into your piggy bank!  :applause-003:

Here are our upcoming activities:

Oct 20 - 22:  Moto Guzzi Campout Weekend at Two Wheels of Suches.  http://twowheelsofsuches.com/event/georgia-moto-guzzi-campout-2/?instance_id=94

Oct 21:  Fallen Brothers Charity Ride to Cathedral Caverns and surrounding area.  Event starts and finishes at Redstone Harley Davidson.  $20 entry fee includes admission to Cathedral Caverns.  http://www.lightningcustoms.com/events/event_50359.html

Oct 21:  Flat Track Racing in Shelbyville, TN. http://www.indianrider.net/threads/2017_1021-shelbyville-tn-flat-track-racing.2876/

Oct 26 - 28:  Gauntlet Thunder in the Mountains Rally, Copperhead Lodge, Blairsville, GA.  http://gauntletga.com/

Oct 27-29:  35th annual True Grits 50cc Fun Run at Two Wheels of Suches.  The main event is on Oct 28, and is a 63-mile timed ride through the North Georgia mountains.  Additionally, TWoS has added a "Gromish" class of motorcycles, which will include Honda Grom 125s, Kawasaki Z125s and similar bikes!  http://champsclock.com/50cc.htm

November:

LUNCH WITH THE VETERANS AT TUT FANN

(FRIDAY) Nov 10:  We're rallying at Tut Fann Veterans Home where we'll serve lunch to the residents there from 11 to 1.   This will be a tremendously rewarding event, and will be a collective effort with both NAVMC and Madison Moto teaming up to support our Veterans.  The invitation is open to our Christian Motorcyclists and BamaRides members to join as well!

LUNCH WITH THE VETERANS AT TUT FANN

Nov 17 - 19:  Al Goodwin's 5th Annual Nowhere to be and All Day to get There Camping and Dual Sporting Weekend.  This event will take place at 377 County Rd 1286, Vinemont, AL, and includes a breakfast, Grill-out dinner, and a movie.  The hosted riding is dualsport-oriented, but when I talked with Al at Barber, he told me there are numerous spectacular paved routes surrounding Vinemont as well, so come on out, regardless the type of motorcycle you're riding!

December:

Mark your calendars for December 9th at 11:30 am, when we'll have our annual Christmas Feast at Blue Plate II.  Soon, RJ will share details on this year's NAVMC Christmas contribution to the Manna House.  NAVMC members who participated in last year's charity effort discussed how we can do even better this year.  More to follow as RJ and others sort details with the Manna House.

Dec 9:  Flat Track racing in Priceville, AL at the Morgan County Celebration Arena.  http://www.ahrma.org/schedules-results/dirt-track/

Dec 30:   Last Ride of the Year Rally at the Stagecoach Cafe in Stockton, AL.  I and Mike Ashbaugh are planning to bundle up and trek from Cullman to Stockton for this event.  Please let us know if you're interested in joining us!  Info from last year's RTE:  http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?155591-2016-12-30-AL-Stockton-Stagecoach-The-Annual-Last-Ride-of-the-Year-XX

Now, looking into 2018:

Jan 27:  The 12th Annual Dania Beach (FL) Vintage Motorcycle Show.  http://daniabeachvintagebikeshow.com/

Sep 8-23:  Motorcycle Cannonball, running from Portland, ME to Portland, OR.  I'm still waiting for confirmation of the riders' midway stop location before blocking my calendar to meet the riders there.  But in the meantime, I'm sharing this early, in case any of you may wish to ride along and meet the riders and see their machines as well.   https://www.facebook.com/motorcyclecannonball

As always, please send me info on anything I've missed.

LET'S RIDE!!!   :bike-038:
