While most Georgia fans who are heading to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day are taking planes or cars, one fan is trekking across the country in a more unconventional way.  That would be superfan Clark Hurst, who is journeying from Sanford Stadium in Athens all the way to California this week.

According to UGAWire.com, Hurst is making solid progress on his trip, but needs to pick up the pace to make it on time.  Assuming he is avoiding highways, Del Rio is 1,361 miles from Athens according to Google Maps, and it is another 1,388 miles to Pasadena.  This puts Hurst about halfway through what will be a total 2,749 mile journey.  Google Maps indicates that this would be a 51 hour trip by car, but scooters travel at about half that speed.  He has averaged 227 miles per day thus far, but he will need to average 278 miles per day to complete the trip in 11 days to make it to the Rose Bowl by January 1.

Hurst has been providing updates on his journey on his YouTube page, as well as on Facebook and Instagram:

He's also been eating a lot of his meals at Waffle House along the way, as you can see in the post below:

How Hurst plans to return to Georgia remains to be seen, but another cross-country journey may be a lot to ask of his scooter.
