CANCELLED

Campgrounds still closed.  WE'LL DO IT ANOTHER TIME

Location: McDougle camp in beautiful Bankhead National Forest.  We'll be there setting up on Friday morning with the big grill for "sausage fest Friday night"(bring whatever you want thrown on the grill)......Breakfast will be served Saturday morning..bacon and biscuits.  We'll have a couple of coffee pots running as well.

Come campout Friday and Saturday nights.....and  nice long day riding Saturday.

Camping at McDougle is free, pit toilet, no showers on site, and we've been unable to find the fresh water that's supposed to be there...bring water..... Brushy Lake is a short ride away, with hot showers....we only ask to please pay the day use fee for using those showers...$3 I think.

More details will follow....I apologize if the dates interfere with other events.

We'll have 2 cool stops down on the Sipsey river...and cross a cool old bridge, the Hollifield Bridge.

Lunch at Chef Troys Talk of the Town in Houston, Al.....if you've never ate there it'll be one of the highlights of the ride.

Afternoon route is still up for possible change from years past....I'll post on here whenever I go for a scouting ride to check the route and look for some new places of interest.

Anyone willing to step up and host this event, I'll gladly share maps and POI along the route.

The campgrounds may not even be back open by then.....I guess we'll play it by ear, and plan it for later this year when things calm down.
