Beersheba Springs TN

Map surfing looking for interesting places to ride Dual Sport or paved Goat Tracks (rough 1 1/2 lane) Beersheba Springs area looks fantastic.  Its closer to Huntsville than Tellico, and I never have heard anyone mention it.  Can someone vouch for it or deny its potential?

Quick search turned up this

I did a ride through that area a couple of years ago on my scooter.  I stayed mostly on the pavement although I did ride some gravel roads to get the ADV middle Tennessee Tag.  There was some good riding but in that area but I didn't find anything to compare to the Tellico Plains area.  I'd be up for a ride to explore that area more.  I'll look for my ride report from that ride and post a link when I find it.

Good thing I do ride reports because I suffer from CRS.  I found my ride report but it wasn't the same ride as when I got the TN tag.  Here's a link:  https://advrider.com/f/threads/full-throttle-touring-150-through-the-rocket-city.647784/page-108#post-37550293

I'll look for the other ride I did in that area.

I went back in that direction in October of 2019 to get the middle TN tag.  I thought I would find some interesting riding in that area but was disappointed but then I didn't get that close to Beersheba Springs.

Some of the best hiking around in the Savage Gulf.  Especially after a few days of good rain.  Waterfalls at most trailheads.

I don't recall any dirt riding near Beersheba Springs, but all the roads climbing up onto the plateau are fun.

There is an area with dirt roads and a stellar drop into the Sequatchie Valley off of 399 on the east side of the Plateau.  If you turn at Scott's Grocery and tell your GPS to get you to Dunlap you will find the area I am referring to.

Once you get down in the valley, there are several barely used steep roads going back up the plateau to your south or north.

You do have to be careful up in that area because there are probably still some roads in the GPS as through roads that will just dump you out in the middle of the woods.

Thanks Good Info, it got interesting to me because its just 1.5 hr away.  Thats a spontaneous, go Friday after work and explore Saturday and come home for Sunday.

Highway 56 is the only road I've ridden. Nice little ride on the east side.
