Open Discussion about Motorcycles / Honda ST1300 Project
Last post by Gearbanger - May 10, 2024, 06:56:23 PM
I got this project because we are supposed to be going on a weeklong ride to the Maggie Valley area this week.  Well my cousins bike (FJR1300AE) decided it didn't want to shift.  So he found this bike on marketplace last minute for a good price.  It was near the coast so it has a bit of corrosion on the aluminum parts and the wrong gas tank but overall it's not too bad with 16,500 miles on it.

Anyway, I'm rushing to do all the fluids, tires, brakes, and just a once over on everything else to ensure its road ready.

Wanted / Re: Honda ST1300 Seat

Exactly....  We are about to take a trip to Maggie Valley and my cousins bike (Yamaha FJR1300AE) decided it didn't want to shift.  So he bought this Honda ST1300 last minute cheap and I'm against the clock going through all the fluids, brakes, tires, etc. to get it ready for the ride.

Fork Benders / Hwy 65 in Paint Rock Valley
Last post by jrobinson - May 10, 2024, 08:12:08 AM
Due to rain, high winds, and tornadoes this week, Hwy 65 has a lot of gravel and debris on the road. I'm sure most of the roads are similar. Use caution while out riding this weekend.

Sounds like you have a project bike. Let us know how it is going and post pics. We love that stuff.

Thanks in advance.

I appreciate it.  Your just a bit far out for me.  There used to be a guy local, I think he went by YamaMoto that had a NoMar here but I'm not sure if he on the forum anymore.

Updated already....  Just bought some more spoons and something to break the bead...   Looks like I'll be doing it myself.  This is the third bike in 5 months.  I really need my own changer.

Thanks everyone.  I hate this place isn't active anymore.

I have a NoMar in N. Alabama, east of Huntsville.

Looking to see if I can find anyone local that has a motorcycle tire changer.  I have a balancer myself but just don't feel like spooning them on if I don't have too.  I'll have the wheels off and ready just waiting now for my tires to come in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
