I missed y'all at Barber last weekend. I was helping with our  canoe and kayak races in Blountsville the same weekend. Hoping to see and ride with y'all now that the weather is improving.

I sold my KLX250/351 to a friend when I bought the Himalayan, I'm hoping to start getting out more over in Talladega National Forest and maybe even  up north to ride with Winn.

My next time out of town will be to attend RDV in Tellico Plains at the end of April.

I'm thinking a ride up the new SEBDR to get there might be fun. Anyone else hold an interest in doing it?

At this point in my life, I have been riding for almost 60 years. I've lost track of how many bikes I have owned, but at least 50 or more. But in all that time, i have never bought a new bike. I came close a coulpe years ago when I bought my Tenere. I set out to buy a new one, but then found one with only 832 miles on it at a great price.

Last year, I decided I need another Italian mistress, it had been a while since I'd had one and I needed some color in my life. A friend let me take his Moto Guzzi V85TT for a spin, and I couldn't resist any longer. Cadre Cycles in Cincinatti OH had a couple '23 models in stock at a screaming price, and it just so happened we were going to Athens OH a couple weeks later to meet some friends for a week of riding in Ohio. Made the deal over the phone, threw Lynn's FZ-07 on the trailer, and away we went.

So, in March, she got one!

Lynn decided she had to have one too!

The first 300 miles were hell. Supposed to keep it under 4000 rpm for break in. That was probably a good idea, as when I changed the oil at 300 miles, it was like water. I suppose RE had a light break in oil from the factory.

The next day I was pushing the bike out of the garage and it felt like the tires were flat. Turned out the rear was.

Decided this was a good time to replace the tires with something more aggresive.

Lynn and I both test rode the new Royal Enfield Himayayan 450 at the Barber Vintage Festival last Fall. A couple weeks later, I dropped into Max Motorsports to see when they were getting any. Turns out, they had just received two the previous day, but both had deposits.I told the salesman, Chris, to call me when they got more in.

A couple days later, I get a call that the guy that had a deposit on the black and gold tubeless model needed to sell a bike before he could pick it up. He told them they could sell it to me if I wanted it and he would get the next one. 4 days later, I had a 450 in the garage.

SOLD!

Got a buyer doing a fly'n'ride next week to ride it back to PA. She sent a deposit and the stuff for me to wire up her GPS for the ride home, so I guess she's serious.
