I was thinking I'd like to look for a used one to replace the XT350, but maybe I'd break down and buy new...

It appears to be the same KLX as before except for fuel injection.

I wouldn't bet on that but maybe.  The good thing is that since this is basically the same bike as before, there should be plenty of aftermarket support.  The two things it needs are a better seat and bigger tank.

Claims "Uni Trak" rear suspension is new.
Also, that article says the shock is fully adjustable for rebound, compression, and preload. Was that the case for the previous generation? That's unusual for a downmarket bike.

I would prefer a 300.  They already have the piston and cylinder for that and it wouldn't make the bike any heavier.

I remember a 650.   I am sure the 250 is response to the crf.  They dominate in 650 dual sport, but not a player in the 250 market.  Unless I am missing something?
