Hello, Everyone!

This Saturday, we enjoyed two special treats:

First, Byron Tidwell presented his latest creation, an unbelievably-detailed custom Honda 750 cafe racer.  There is now a small circular indentation in the parking lot pavement from the concentration of admirers that surrounded the bike when he arrived!  Great job, Byron--beautiful bike!

Second, Keith Kizer and his son Kendall joined us at breakfast and took time to talk with us.  Keith is the Executive Director of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA).  He shared with us the long-awaited news that, in January, AMCA will establish an Associate Chapter here in Huntsville!  The chapter will be a subsidiary of the Chattanooga "Smoky Mountain" chapter.  He encouraged us to join the Huntsville chapter, and discussed some of the benefits, which include:

- membership in an international club dedicated to the preservation and restoration of motorcycles 35 years old and older

- bimonthly magazine

- 5% discount with Hagerty Insurance

For more information about AMCA, visit their website:  http://www.antiquemotorcycle.org

Here are our upcoming activities:

Nov 22-23:  Huntsville's Manna House (a charitable organization) has notified Linda Robinson that they will be delivering meals and basic sustainment items (deodorants, toothpaste, combs, etc) to indigent and homebound veterans for Thanksgiving.  If any of you wish to assist Manna House in their efforts, please send a personal message to Linda on our Facebook page, and she'll coordinate for you.

Beginning Nov 25th, we'll commence our Christmas Holiday preparation.  This includes:

- Accepting financial contributions for our Christmas gift to our Blue Plate server, Naomi

- Collecting gift pack items for our Manna House Christmas gift deliveries

I'll publish a special edition of Rench's Rap to cover what we have going for the Christmas Holiday.

December:

Dec 2:  Flat Track racing in Shelbyville, TN at the Calsonic Arena.  http://www.ahrma.org/schedules-results/dirt-track/

December 9th at 11:30 am:  We'll have our annual Christmas Feast at Blue Plate II.

December 16:  Redstone H-D is hosting its monthly swap meet from 9 am to 5 pm.  (This is my first time learning that they host a swap meet monthly).  A sale table area is $10, and the meet will occur rain or shine.  https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_event/43730

Dec 30:   Last Ride of the Year Rally at the Stagecoach Cafe in Stockton, AL.  UPDATE:  Now we are three!  Raymond Cox has indicated that he plans to join Mike Ashbaugh and me for the trek to Stockton for this event.  Please let us know if you're interested in joining us!  Info from last year's rally:  http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?155591-2016-12-30-AL-Stockton-Stagecoach-The-Annual-Last-Ride-of-the-Year-XX

Now, looking into 2018:

Jan 1:  The CMA Knights for Christ Chapter is hosting its 23rd annual Polar Bear Run.  Entry fee is $20 and includes lunch.  All proceeds go to a local charity.  The ride begins at the Maury County Senior Citizens building at 9:30 am.  https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_event/43664

Jan 27:  The 12th Annual Dania Beach (FL) Vintage Motorcycle Show.  UPDATE:  I'm going!  I reserved a hotel room in Dania Beach, and can't wait to enjoy a respite from the cold along with a day of drooling over beautiful vintage bikes!  If any of you are planning to travel there, or wish to link up at the event, please email me and let me know!  http://daniabeachvintagebikeshow.com/

Jan 27:  Easyriders 2018 Bike Show Tour-Nashville, Nashville, TN.  https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_event/37968

Oct 5 - 7:  Barber Vintage Festival 2018, Leeds, AL.

As always, please send me info on anything I've missed.

LET'S RIDE!!!

This finally falls on a weekend, and I am hoping to go.  I may ride down the night before and camp/hotel, depending on weather.

Indeed, Goat, we missed your gathering in Huntsville last night so we could travel down and see Al, Melonie and the dual sport riders.  The riders had (very wisely!) opted to head home Saturday evening, so we simply enjoyed a couple of hours of great stories with the Goodwins.  Can't wait to see him race in Shelbyville after hearing of his amazing success in his first foray into flat tracking last summer in Athens!  I also anticipate that NAVMC's Tom Schuman will race too :), though our fearless Frank Coseglia won't be able to join the Mad Dog 125 battles this time around... :'(

Goat, please post if you decide to make the trip to Stagecoach Cafe.  Would love to see you there if we're all able to make it!
