I'm planning a coast to coast this summer. Or at least looking at the feasibility. Most likely starting point will be Kitty Hawk, NC. No interstate. Slow pace(I'm nuts, I know, but I'm thinking I may ride the VanVan. Why not???). Lots of camping. Hotels when necessary. Crashing on friends and family's couches or camping in their yards. I'm off work for the months of June and July.

If you're half way interested in joining me, let's start the conversation here.

Anyone? Bueller?

I plan to be in Long Beach June 13-18 for work. I also plan to have 5-6 days before and afterwards. I'd like to finish the west end of Route 66, stay in Long Beach, ride up the PCH, then head for home for 5-6 days.

There will probably be an IronButt SS1000, trip to the Grand Canyon, among other ideas that come up during my ride.

FWIW (which is pretty much nothing) I would love to do this trip. Or something similar.

Sadly life does not allow it. Work and all that stuff....

Anyway, I hope you do it Karla.

And I hope one day, when the weekly grind of work is in my rear-view mirror, I can hit the road for a few weeks myself.

@Brian A , what you and my other friends here at Moto-Al think matters a lot. Best support crew I know for crazy ideas 🤣

Looking at what I need for the VanVan to make this trip. Here is my punch list:

Luggage rack
Bark busters
Risers?/bar angle
Tank replacement(the GN125 or 250 tanks are bolt on and would double my range)
Charging port
Saddle bags
Windscreen??
Dirt skins
Tank bag
Pyramid plastics fenda extenda
Rotopax fuel cell

Lists get me excited!

As I have done extended riding on a similar bike I would add a throttle lock. At least your seat rivals a couch!

Something else to consider if you're gonna ride the VanVan would be to look at the TAT tracks. Not that you might want to do the whole thing, but to look for easy dirt roads to get you off the pavement on occasion and see a few different things. Might be especially useful for the stretch from Kitty Hawk to eastern TN.

DO IT!  I would love to tag along but like BrianA, I find that making a living sometimes gets in the way of life.
Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however,  extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity.

If it don't scare you, you ain't doing it right.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Tentative route by city. I need to map out the roads to make sure this will work. It ranges 200-350 miles per day. Return route may be different as I want to swing down to Algadones, Mexico on the way home.
