Was putting together a ride for some friends and wanted to go see Smith Lake damn.  Any good roads out that way we shouldn't miss?

Where are you starting? How long do you want to ride?

If you want somewhere to eat over that way Talk Of The Town resturant in Houston is good also the ride there is some good roads 933 to 22 to 77 to 41 then up 63 is a nice ride.

222 runs from hwy69 around the lake and back to Cullman. Its a nice road and shouldn't be too much traffic this time of year. Lots of nice curves. There is a cafe at Big Bridge that is was being run by Chef Troy this summer. Not sure if they are open this time of year.

I believe Top of the Town Too closes for keeps a short time ago. Just buzz over to 63 and eat at the original.

Once you get to North JeffCo, there are several fun, short roads you can piece together to get to LS Dam.

In somewhat chronological order...

Brookside / Mt. Olive Rd. (from "downtown" Brookside to Mt. Olive Rd.)
Sardis Rd. (between US 31 and Mt. Olive Rd.)
Beat Line Rd. (Warrior Jasper Rd. to Corner Rd.)
Corner Rd. to 4 way at Arkadelphia Rd., turn left.
Arkadelphia Rd./Blount Co. Rd 35 to AL Hwy 91, turn left.
AL91 to AL Hwy 69, turn left.
AL69 to Smith Lake Dam Rd.

After the dam, take AL69 back north to Co. Rd. 222 and enjoy.  :)
