Edit update, Shell Station in Ardmore at end of Hwy 110 at 9am.

I've been having trouble viewing the site today, anyway now it seems good.  Keep in mind its Labor Day weekend, so how many people would be interested in a DS ride on 9/5/2020 leaving from the Ardmore-ish area.  How far out would you be coming from along with or just how much of a ride could you stand when considering your journey to get here and back?

No matter the route this would all be legal county roads, so not heavily technical stuff, a couple are very infrequently maintained and could be include or excluded according to bike size/experiance ratio of showing up riders.

klaviator

I'll be there.  Now that I have a better seat I'm up for a reasonably long ride.

I'm up for this one. I'll have to haul up since I'm 1:30 away interstate.

What would be your ideal meeting time with that kind of travel to get here?  9am?

You are welcome to leave your truck at my place but you might want to check with @thinwater as he is closer to the meeting place and less out of the way.

That's great unless Thinwater has a better idea.

I can send you my address, I'm 7 miles South of Ardmore, you could unload here.

klaviator

Long term weather forecast looks good.  80s and dry with a chance of rain on Friday which would be great since it would keep the dust down.  Luckily many of the dirt roads are in the shade and don't tend to get dusty.  It's the ones running past farm fields that can get dusty.

How long of a ride are you up for?  I worked on a route today, first cut, it was 7 hrs no breaks no lunch so that would wind up being over 8.5 hrs with an hour lunch and 10minute breaks ever 45 minutes ish.   It can be cut down by a couple of hours easily.  You're coming a long way, I want you to get your days worth without you begging for the end before we get there.

I'll be there. I'll have to find a back road to the meet up cause I'm not riding forty miles on I65 with the CRF. Doesn't matter how long the day is, I have plenty of Aleve.  :D

Old Hwy 31 will bring you straight downtown.

Will this be an under 55mph ride? Is gas available (small tank)

There are gas stations.   I would recommend riding your KLR.  There is nothing all that hard on this ride.  Randy did most of this stuff on his CB500X.  A lot of this ride will be on paved roads although much of that pavement is pretty rough and more suitable for a dual sport or adventure bike than a street bike.

If I wind up leading it instead of Klaviator, there is a way better chance. :D  I think @Pepperlady is choosing a DR200 if that helps you decide.  There will be 3 or 4, one or two mile stents on Hwy 64 (divded 4 lane).  55 is still a legal speed on that road too!  Her other ride is a Honda 250L so not a heap of top end difference.

I plan to be there.  I'm good with any length ride.
